Another young tree on York Way bites the dust – outside Lincoln Lounge

IMG00154-20100722-0753Stuart sent in this picture.  Note that this is a well protected tree in a cage – someone had to go to real effort to snap this off.  So sad when this happens.  The stronger cages were installed through resident-led action.

Any chance the CCTV was pointing in this direction?

“So sad when people do this”?

I saw this last night on my way home – who in their right mind would do something like this. I really don’t understand.

I also saw it last night – however it is just about possible it was done by a large vehicle (rather than vandals) as they were all pushed right over into that lane by the roadworks. A truck or bus could easily have caught it as a result of that.

We need more mature trees that start with stronger trunks, somehow!

This message from Grayham Tindal, Urban Forester, LBI

“If it is on York Way can you please contact Camden Council as they are responsible for both sides of the road now.”

“Can you contact Camden Council 020 7974 6866. They will be able to make
    any necessary arrangements.”

The police seem reluctant/unable to use the cctv for any other crime (other than parking and speeding offences). Why should this incident be any different?
