Squire and Partners Architects, of Wicklow Street WC1, have announced an 'urban street party' in 'Wicklow Village' for Thursday 1 July. The event is part of the London Festival of Architecture, 19 June to 4 July.
I can't trace the original reference to 'Wicklow Village' mentioned, but it could catch on as a useful name for the cluster of cobbled streets and its unusual assortment of bars, flats, institutions and galleries.

I can see why they chose the name “Wicklow Village” as Wicklow Street connects all of the streets in the area. But it seems a bit artificial. St Chad’s would seem a better name as it refers to an actual landmark in the area St Chad’s Well. which was a medicinal spring for which a pumphouse was built in 1833, before being destroyed by the Midland railway in the 1860s.
More details can be found in Chesca Potter’s 1985 article ‘The River of Wells’

It would be interesting to hear what people actually living in these streets refer to as.
I live on Britannia street (off Wicklow street) and refer to it as the forgotten part of Kings Cross!
My Nan used to live in Derby Buildings in wicklow Street I am getting down to London soon and would love to know if it is still there so that I could just go and have a look and reminisce. Can anyone help. Thanks
