After a complete make-over from inside to outside and top to bottom The Driver has now re-opened at the intersection of Wharfdale and Caledonian Roads as a Brassarie and Bar.
To celebrate the opening, the owner Billy Reilly and has staff are welcoming local residents and business guests with an exclusive special offer – 20% OFF YOUR FINAL DINING BILL (LUNCH OR DINNER).
The offer was origninally due to end at the end of July, however due to an error by this author, it was posted late and the offer had expired. The management of The Driver has now graciously agreed to extend the offer until the end of August. This offer is for groups of up to four people. That would be great, but an offer that expires on 31st July is not much good when it’s posted on 4th August!

I think we should be very, very careful when saying local restaurants give discounts or special offers to residents. This is the third one that’s turned out to be bogus – The Brill said originally they’d give discounts for locals as did the Hungry House. I tried both, referring to this website, and was refused leaving me rather embarrassed to say the least. I won’t go back to the Hungry House as they were very loud and rude about it. At least The Brill were rather more polite – although they did have a good laugh at my expense. Not comfortable!
The Driver 20% offer has now been extended through the end of August.
