How to keep your eye out for unpleasant “Planning” surprises”

Islington_logo I’m sure you’ve all, at one time or another, wondered why you were not notified about a Planning Application on your street.  Well there IS a way for you to know – without depending upon any notification – it’s Islington Online Planning area that is part of the Council’s website.  Just go to https://www.islington.gov.uk/Environment/Planning/Online/ and you will be able to browse all the applications submitted each week.  The online area will also give you links to the actual application, and usually any plans that were submitted, and, after the decision, any "Conditions" that were imposed if the application was approved.

It’s a very good tool to maintain awareness of what’s going on around you.

  1. Or, if you don’t want to go back checking every week of your life, just use http://www.planningalerts.com instead , thanks to Mr Richard Pope.
