There is a dumping spot on the left hand side of Caledonian Road just North of the Ferodo bridge but before the Kings Court development. A little forgotten patch of land that belongs to the railway is the subject of persistent tipping. There was once a chain-link fence cordoning it off but this was trampled down long ago. And the small space attracts all sorts of refuse – from fridges to bin bags. This is typical of an area where the ownership is unclear – private land, not on the public highway but owned by either a utility or infrastructure company. The generic problem is similar to that at the electricity substation on Treaty Street.
This has been a persistent issue here – will see if the North Kings Cross Environmental Task group can tackle it somehow.
