GLA Members vist Kings Cross to talk open spaces and the bridge over the tracks

The Mayors Planning and Housing Committee members visited Kings Cross today as part of their enquiry into public realm issues.  With local groups we had a good chat about the bridge over the tracks, the permeability of the Kings Cross redevelopment and the difficulties of working across a borough boundary. We'll write it up more later but here are two audio interviews.  Good to see members backing residents on the need for a bridge and deciding to take a much closer interest in future planning applications in Kings Cross.

  1. Great support from Gavron, interesting that GLA-Boff is fairly cagey (“have seen worse”) and feels its down to Islington to pressure Camden to pressure Network Rail the ‘Private Landlord’ – at least he notes TfL’s Station Forecourt / Square is ‘Public Realm’
