For all the talk of regeneration in Kings Cross its salutary to see set out clearly just how deprived some parts of the area are.
This graphic was generated by the Office for National Statistics when i entered the post code of my old flat on Rufford Street – N1 0AP – go to the link and have a go.
What i find most salutary is that 110 years ago the area in about the same in relative terms. Charles Booth classified the streets there as:
'Lowest class. Vicious. Semi-criminal.' and 'Very poor, casual chronic want'.
