Badly controlled dogs are a menace in the densely populated urban area that is Islington. The Council is running a consultation on how to control dogs with the new powers they have been given by the Government. You can fill in the online questionnaire by clicking here. it only takes five minutes and is easy to use. Have a go – if you don’t, the next time you step into something smelly you only have yourself to blame.
I am keen to see dogs on leads in Bingfield Park and stronger penalties for not cleaning up after a dog. The children’s adventure playground in Bingfield Park almost unbelievably has to factor dog poo and badly controlled dogs into a health and safety assessment before they can allow kids to play in the park. And as a result they don’t play in the park very often. This is bonkers – we can’t put dogs before children. Yet the Council has chickened out of tough measures in the park despite recommendations from its own officers (i covered this before here).
