Greenwall Project hot news

080214_entgreenwalls_vlvertical Local residents championing the Wharfdale Road greenwall project took a big step forward last week when they set up a new local Trust whose aim is to improve the area within a half mile radius of King’s Cross for the benefit of the local community. Called King’s Cross Community Projects, the Trust is now awaiting approval from the Charity Commission for charitable status. The Trust have already gained support from a popular local business – more news of this to come. Residents hope to use the Trust to raise funds for various projects in the future, the first being the Wharfdale Road greenwall project.

The image on the left is an internal vertical garden designed by perhaps the most famous and successful greenwall designer, Patrick Blanc.

For those wanting more information about greenwalls, roofs and urban greening in general, a good read is Building Green from the Mayor’s Office.

Do contact the Trust by email with ideas, comments or concerns about the greenwall and… watch this space for more news!
