Impressive looking local festival this coming weekend down the road in Bloomsbury or Kings Cross borders as the estate agents probably call it now. Thanks to Sian at Create KingsX (who is fast becoming our arts correspondent) for the blurb below – you can also check out the festival website here:
19th – 21st October 2007
Come down and enjoy superb programme richly packed with music, dance, theatre, film, photography, literature and debate.
Following the amazing success of the Bloomsbury Festival 2006, this year’s Festival will again offer a range of public concerts and events, as well as open houses, debates and children’s activities throughout the area.
The three day programme will be drawn from leading national organisations, museums and galleries, and individual artists, designers and creatives located in the area, as well as a number of responses to the area from practitioners invited into it.
The festival will be open to everyone and the majority of activities within the programme are free.
With almost all its events and courses free, and funded entirely by local sponsorship, the Bloomsbury Festival aims to create a local network that is cross-disciplinary, and celebrates every aspect of life in this unique neighbourhood.
The area is still a training ground for a new generation of artists, architects and designers, and the Festival aims to showcase work that is made by people in the area, or by people with an interest in the area. It is led by Allied London, the re-developer of The Brunswick, who sponsored the first Festival in its entirety, and continues to be the headline sponsor in 2007.
