Ok, so it’s not actually a herring, but is in fact a heron. Seen here on the roof of Battlebridge Court which stands between Wharfdale Road and the Battlebridge Basin. The heron often visits the basin and is always a treat to see, but this is the first time it has been spotted on the roof. Many thanks to Jean James for this fantastic photo.
