A neighbour has reported seeing rats twice in the past week or so scurrying amongst the flowerbeds in front of the shops on York Way between the Backpacker pub and Copenhagen Street.  Rats are a fact of life in London but it is unusual to see them on the surface near busy areas.  I shall report these and see what happens.

UPDATE

with some rapidity the Council has go in touch see paste:
